A gift from my best friend to help me through Mother Nature Week. THE BEST EVER!
Woo hoo! Who’s excited for scarf season?! I am. My Fall wardrobe is my best showing of the year…by far scarves are the best accessory you can have. If you have the right scarf, it can completely pull a whole look together. Here are my top 5 favorite ways to tie a scarf – tune into the Detective Gomez Radio Show to hear me talk about them TODAY at 2pm CST: http://www.detectivegomez.com/radio-show.html Some you’ve seen, hopefully a few you haven’t. Either way, I hope you are inspired to try something new this season!

Ok peeps, now you know I’m biracial, but I LOVE dark skin. There’s something exotic and alluring about it…every summer I try to get as dark as possible! I will lay out slathered in baby oil (yes – I said it! BAY-BEE OIL), use self tanners, bronzers, and really anything that will make me look like I’m a permanent Miami resident. In my quest to look like I’m from Barbados, I get the weirdest tan lines. On top of that, I suffer in the heat sweating miserably for 3-4 hours while I’m sun frying myself. And then there’s that ol’ dreaded and very possible possibility I will end up with skin cancer. I have sun spots on my face I call freckles from sunburn’s past, and on the long lay out hauls, I often feel that uncomfortable sting when I get in the shower.
I’ve been badly sunburned once, and it was so brutal, I never wish that discomfort on anyone! Ok okay, the idiot that cut me off on 75 the other day, I did. I yelled loudly at him(or her) that I hope their (let’s say nether regions for lack of a better phrase) gets sunburned. But on a normal basis, you know what I mean…
All that to say this: I got a spray tan from Golden Glow, DFW’s newest luxury mobile spray tan service. NO – she doesn’t have a wrapped truck. Yet. I’m trying to convince her it’d be really cool…she and her team of technicians go into people’s homes, set up their tent, spray you, and are on their way in about an hour’s time start to finish! It’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. In the comfort of your own home, on your own time?! What’s better than that? Not sliced bread, that’s for sure…the carbs, the sugar…
Anyway, I am ALL for the fake bake now. Unless there’s an excellent reason, I won’t soon be sun frying. I’d rather pay the $75 for one of her girls to come to the house and spray me down! I slept in mine last night, and I lightly showered this morning, and I’m amazed at the results. You should seriously do this if you have an event coming up. You’ll look like you just came back from vacation in Maui!
The tan line is real…
